About

A few quick facts about us:

We met at FIRE Church in Charlotte, after individually moving to North Carolina in the summer of 2003. We became friends at a homegroup and had some “matchmaker help” from our homegroup leader.

We had our first date on Friday, April 1st, 2005 (Jenny’s birthday) at the Ratcliffe on the Green. We waited 7 months for that special night!!

At the bottom of a beautiful 300-foot waterfall in the foothills that surround Seattle, Eric knelt on one knee onto the rocky beach and proposed. August 9th, 2005 – a perfect August day in the Northwest!

On April 5, 2006, we were happily married on top of the Mint Museum in Uptown Charlotte, while surrounded by loving family and friends. An unforgettable evening as the sun set and the city lights filled the sky.

Eric graduated from FIRE School of Ministry on July 21st, 2007 and began working the following week as the personal assistant for Dr. Michael Brown.

One Thursday evening in the summer of 2007, we heard a sermon called “Privileged For A Purpose” by Matt Peterson. It changed our lives and was the Lord’s way of showing we were to move to the Philippines as missionaries.

In January 2008, the Lord confirmed in our hearts that we are to serve and minister in Davao City.

On September 5th, 2008, we came home from the hospital after Eric had outpatient surgery – and realized we were expecting our first child! Hannah Grace McCoy was born on May 13, 2009, and we feel we are the happiest parents on earth!

In January 2010 we began making plans to relocate to Davao. A slow real estate market (and the divine purposes of God) we were delayed but given over twelve months of preparation that we now see as invaluable.

On April 7, 2011, after raising funds, selling or giving away most of our belongings, and renting out our house, we boarded a plane and moved our family to the Philippines!
